Plotting the winners

Just to show what random distribution looks like, I plotted the winners from draw #3 of the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion.  Keep in mind that this is only one of the three drawings, and cities that don't have any winners might have been represented in the first two drawings.  These exercises remain consistent - the winners are spread around the state with slightly higher concentrations in our major population centers. 

We had more than 480,000 entries during the course of this promotion.

Wheel of Fortune

The first drawing in the "Wheel of Fortune®" second-chance promotion is complete.  The unofficial winners list is posted here.  In each drawing, one player will be selected to win a trip to Hollywood for a chance to audition for the TV game show, while three other players will receive cash prizes. 

In this first drawing, we had more than 60,000 entries, of which, nearly 90 percent were entered online.  The second entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Feb. 16. 

Holiday Magic complete

The third and final drawing in the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion is complete.  The unofficial winners list has been posted here. 

We received more than 213,000 entries for this drawing and more than 481,000 throughout the entire promotion.  In this final drawing, about 73 percent were entered online.

Deadline looms

The first entry deadline in the "Wheel of Fortune®" second-chance promotion is 5 p.m. on January 12.  You must have non-winning tickets delivered to the Lottery or entered online by that time. 

There are two more drawings following this one, where players could win a trip to Hollywood for a chance to audition for the TV gameshow.  If you've been playing the "Wheel of Fortune®" Scratchers ticket, why not enter the second-chance promotion and extend your chances of winning?  Good luck. 

What to enter

The final entry deadline for the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion has passed.  The final drawing will take place on Jan. 14.  You may still see some holiday-themed Scratchers out there, and there are still prizes available in those games, but the tickets are no longer eligible for any promotion. 

There is one ticket that is - and that's the "Wheel of Fortune®" Scratchers ticket.  Play the $3 game for a chance to win up to $50,000 instantly.  Non-winning tickets are eligible for the "Wheel of Fortune®" second-chance promotion, where players can win prizes in three drawings.  In each drawing, we'll award one grand prize of a trip for two to Hollywood, $1,000 in spending money and a chance to audition for the TV game show.  There will also be prizes of $900, $600 and $300 awarded to the runners-up. 

The first entry deadline in this promotion is Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 5 p.m.  Look for "Wheel of Fortune®" at your favorite Missouri Lottery retail location.

Now what?

Christmas is over.  You may still have some time off and some gifts to take back, but the bowl games are straight ahead, and then, 2010.  Well, before you get too far ahead of yourself, don't forget that there's still time to enter non-winning holiday Scratchers in the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion.  There is one drawing left in our holiday promotion, and the entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 5.  Collect those eligible non-winning Scratchers and give yourself one more chance to win some great prizes - like a trip to WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort®.  Click here for more details, and good luck. 

Winners announced

The second drawing in the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion is complete, and the unofficial winners list has been posted on Molottery.com.  Why is it unofficial you ask?  The winners who submitted their tickets online have to send the actual tickets in to claim their prize. 

There were more than 155,000 entries for this drawing, of which, about 74 percent were submitted online.  The ratio of entries through My Lottery to mail-in is about the same as the first drawing, but there were about 43,000 more entries this time.  I would expect the number to grow for the third drawing. 

Remember, there is only one drawing remaining in this promotion.  If you want to win a trip to WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort® or any of the other prizes, the final entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 5.  Good luck! 

Only 9 shopping days left

The holidays are quickly approaching, and your shopping days are dwindling.  If you're out of gift ideas, consider holiday-themed Scratchers from the Missouri Lottery.  The games are selling well, but we should have plenty of tickets to last through the holidays.  The $2 and $5 games appear to be selling faster than the others, so keep that in mind if you were planning on buying those tickets.  We have plenty of $10 tickets - and all three top prizes of $250,000 are yet to be found.  Remember, just one of the $10 non-winning "Season's Greetings" Scratchers tickets comprises one entry into the "Holiday Magic" second-chance promotion.  You could win a trip to WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort®, a $1,000 shopping spree or $300 worth of Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets.  The final entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, so plan accordingly.
