The jackpots rolled last night. Saturday's Powerball jackpot is $113 million. Pick 4 players were the big winners yesterday. The Lottery paid more than $106,000 in prizes on 9-1-1-4. Most of the wins were box plays.
That caps what has been a pretty good run for daily games players so far this week. The combo of interesting dates might have played a part. (1/14/14?) What are you playing next?
Many of you have noticed that you can't buy advance plays in Powerball. The Power Play matrix is changing with the drawing on Jan. 22. A multiplier is being re-introduced to the Power Play structure.
Due to this change, you are limited to purchasing two Powerball drawings - the number of drawings left before the switch. Note that new playslips will be required. The old ones will not work after Jan. 18. New slips should be available at retail locations.
All of the jackpots rolled last night, but daily games players made up for it by winning big. Really big. The winning combination in Pick 4 last night was quadruple fives. More than 200 players were betting on that and split more than $1.3 million in prizes. We’ve seen a few combinations “sell-out” recently – the most popular combo is quadruple ones. This kind of hit explains why we have liability limits. Last night’s payout was more than 10 times the day’s sales.
It should be noted that players also won with play types other than straight. More than 40 hit Front 3 or another combo, and nearly 40 more won with 1-Off. Not a bad idea if you’re playing quads – players betting on quadruple fours or sixes last night scored a $37 prize.
Pick 3 players also won big last night on another popular combination. The Lottery paid more than $83,000 in prizes on 4-2-3. Some hit that straight, but more won with box. More than 100 players were close and won a little with 1-Off.
What numbers are you playing today? If you interested in a little bigger jackpot, tonight’s Show Me Cash jackpot is $70,000. Good luck!

There were a couple of big payouts for Pick 3 players during the holiday. Pick 3 players won more than $109,000 on Tuesday evening. The winning combination was 1-9-1. They hit it again on Christmas Eve - the evening winning combination was 2-2-1, and players won more than $148,000.
Don't look now, but daily games players are riding a winning streak. Pick 3 players have won more than $153,000 in prizes in the last two drawings! Combinations of nines have been hot for the last 24 hours. Before that, it's was fives. Pick 3 players won more than $83,000 in prizes on 5-5-0 at midday Tuesday.
Pick 4 players have been winning, too. The largest payout was more than $94,000 in prizes on 1-4-1-1 yesterday.
Got three or four numbers? What are you playing next?
All of the jackpots rolled last night, but there was one big winner thanks to Power Play. One player matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball to win $10,000, and since they selected Power Play, the prize was bumped to $40,000. The winning ticket was sold at Mace Supermarkets in Cuba.
For an extra $1 at the time of purchase, you can add Power Play to your Powerball ticket, or Megaplier to your Mega Millions ticket. When you do, all non-jackpot prizes you win will be multiplied. Keep in mind, some changes will happen to the Power Play matrix in January to re-introduce the multiplier, so we’re currently in “stepdown” mode with Powerball. You can only purchase up to nine drawings in advance right now, and that number will decrease with each drawing until we reach Jan. 22.
The next Powerball jackpot is $60 million. Try adding Power Play, and even if you don’t win the jackpot, you could double or quadruple your near miss.
