The Missouri Lottery was pleased to join our business partner GTECH yesterday for the unveiling of a new computer lab in Ashland. GTECH donated $15,000 to Southern Boone High School for a new physics computer lab as part of the After School Advantage program. The lab is equipped with eight Dell laptops and associated scientific equipment, such as meters and sensors. This is the 177th computer lab built by GTECH nationwide and the eighth in Missouri.
"The Missouri Lottery's primary beneficiary is public education," said Missouri Lottery Chief Operating Officer Gary Gonder. "In the past 26 years, the Lottery has contributed more than $4 billion to the state and public education through a variety of important programs and institutions. GTECH's After School Advantage program exemplifies the Lottery's mission and continued commitment to benefit students and public education in the state of Missouri."
Other GTECH After School Advantage labs are located in St. Louis, Jefferson City, Eugene, Blue Springs, Mexico and Kansas City.
In addition to GTECH, Lottery and school officials, legislative representatives attended the grand opening. Pictured are Senator Kurt Schaefer and Representative Chris Kelly.
