We didn’t draw triple sevens on 7/07/07, but it was a hot combination and did sell out in both Pick 3 and Pick 4. Of course, that combination is no more likely to be selected than any other, so for fun, I looked around at the other 43 state lotteries to see if lucky sevens appeared anywhere. Not all states have a pick three daily game, but no one drew triple sevens on Saturday.
Tennessee was the only state to draw triples; 9-9-9. New Jersey drew 6-0-0, and other states had numbers which featured at least one seven, like Michigan, 7-7-2; Kentucky, 3-6-7; Wisconsin, 1-1-7; New Mexico, 3-7-5; North Carolina, 3-5-7; Maryland drew 7-8-8 and both Illinois and Iowa selected the combination 6-0-7.
Interesting combinations drawn last week include; Arizona drawing 7-0-7 on July 2, Idaho selecting 3-7-7 and New Jersey drawing triple 8’s on July 5, Louisiana drawing 0-7-7 on July 6, and Washington pulling 0-7-1 on July 8.
July 8 may have been the biggest day in this numbers run, after Michigan pulled a pair of sevens for the second day in a row, 1-7-7, and the Tri-State Lottery of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine paid out to players selecting 7-8-7.
No matter when 7-7-7 comes up, the pay out will run high because it’s consistently one of the most popular combinations. Next year, we’ll take a shot at 8-8-8, and there are plenty of fun dates in between. Good luck.
